LACK OF RESPECT FOR GREA

Multiple letters sent by the GREA leadership to the Superintendent and BOE since June 2020 - most went unanswered

Superintendent blocked GREA from following him on Twitter (see below)

On Friday, April 23, 2021, alll GREA members received RICE notices from the administraion/BOE for the first time in the history of Glen Rock education

On Friday, April 23. 2021, 12 untenured teachers were called from their classrooms, instructed to come to Dr. Parent's office, informed their contracts would not be renewed, told to submit resignation letters on Monday at 9am or they would not receive a positive reference from the district, and forced to leave the building immediately after the meeting, leaving students in their classrooms and waiting on ZOOM. Note that it is illegal for Glen Rock to provide to another district any information other than employment dates and salary; they cannot provide a negative reference.

Requests by the GREA for meetings were delayed or not honored APRIL 2021 INTO AUGUST, including after 4/23/21 events (see above) and after 6/14/21 when BOE member Rob Scherer publicly criticized the GREA members for voting against the "Team Lead" position and other issues

GREA President addressed the BOE at the 4/26/21 meeting expressing the perspective of teachers after all received RICE Notices and describing a Robert Ax Award winner (highest honor given annually to a Glen Rock teacher) - BOE President Sharon Scarpelli cut him off and would not let him continue due to "personnel" reasons

The concerned citizens behind the direct mail flyer and this website

did not speak with GREA leadership who signed the

BOE/GREA joint statement (see below).

But, it is a fact that not all Glen Rock residents received the direct mail flyer, which references this website, on Thursday 10/29,

and no non-residents received it.

So, for these GREA leaders, two of whom do not live in Glen Rock, to be asked to pass judgement on materials they in all likelihood had not seen prior to signing this statement seems problematic and may reflect more of the same bullying and intimidation tactics referenced in the many direct quotations from current and prior teachers and staff.
