"Delay the proposed GRMS/GRHS restructuring vote"

We are concerned parents in the Glen Rock NJ school district and taxpayers who feel that there is a rush to vote on an issue that proposes to shake up the very foundation of our excellent school system.

We are requesting a delay in the upcoming vote on restructuring GRMS/GRHS currently scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

This petition is not about whether or not we agree with this vote. It is merely a request to the Board of Education and Superintendent Brett Charleston to  provide more clarity and transparency on this issue as many in the community feel there has been little communication to date. Furthermore, we respectfully request that there is a clear dissemination of the information through proven communication channels - email, district website and official HSA communication channels followed up with blasts on social media (District twitter, instagram and Facebook pages) alerting users to check their emails and the website.

In addition, this petition is for anyone who wants to amplify their voice but more importantly, for those of us who cannot attend the meeting on Tuesday evening but want to make sure our voices are heard.  We want to state, for the record, that voting on this issue on Tuesday evening is premature. If the scheduled vote is carried out as planned on Tuesday evening at the Board of Education meeting, it will further solidify the current public perception that Board of Education, as well as Superintendent Charleston, is making a decision about our children's education with little or no regard for parent, educator and taxpayer input.

assistant superintendent van nest explains why glen rock received so many resumes for supervisors.

Glen Rock is paying a top salary for supervisors who do not teach.

In other districts, supervisors teach at least one class, cover classes when needed, and are active participants in student learning and teacher collaboration.

trustees laugh and vote unanimously to accept forced resignations of non-renewed teachers from 4/23/21 and approve hiring of three new supervisors.

One trustee said, "We support all of you, even the new ones."
